Jesse James…new photos

Jesse James at one year

Jesse James        Merriewold Jesse James

Merriewold Jesse James is now a little over a year old and WOW is he attractive!  With outstanding individuals like his sire Santa Fe Renegade and his dam MLF Emotion, we knew we would get something great.  Jesse is tall and has a striking red coat.  We think he would make a wonderful western pleasure or hunter prospect.  And with his nice disposition he will be a great family and trail horse.

Merriewold Galaxie at her first show

Galaxie earns the red ribbon

In early July, Merriewold Galaxie and her trainer Sally Anderson went to the Yakima Dressage Summer Classic show in Montana. This was Gal’s first show. It was an open, USEF and USDF rated show.  Gal’s sire, Iron Forge Starman also went to the show.  He and Sally are working on their gold medal.
Here are a few comments from Sally.  Gal did fabulous.  I rode her in all the arenas on Friday…we spent extra time walking relaxing and smelling the fake flowers.  Saturday we rode Training 1 and she was very relaxed and steady.  She received a 66%  (which turned out to be the red ribbon-second place).  I was pleased with her whole weekend.

First photos of Gaysha under saddle

Gaysha under saddle   Gaysha and Jackie

It is the second anniversary of Merriewold Gaysha’s fall and as you can see she is doing very well.  In fact we think she has completely forgotten about the whole ordeal and we couldn’t be more pleased with her attitude and ability in training.  She is calm, relaxed and Jackie says…fun to ride!

Training the new Foals at MWM

Under the direction of  Merriewold’s trainer Jackie Brittain, our new foals are groomed and handled on a daily basis.  During this time the foals become accustomed to and accept the people around them and learn to trust and respect humans.   They are brushed, have their legs and feet handled, learn to wear a halter and walk on a lead.

Kirin and Kona go for a walk

In this photo Merriewold Kirin and Merriewold Kona are learning to walk on a lead rope next to their handlers Ubaldo and Abbie.

Merriewold Kirin meets the farrier  Merriewold Kona and farrier
Here Kirin meets the farrier, Mike LaGrone for the first time.  And Kona gets her first trim.  These first encounters are as much training as actual trimming.  They begin a life long association with the person responsible for the health of their feet.
